Tarania Naidoo, a second-year film degree student won the Billy Preston Emerging Creative Talent award at the Bokeh fashion film festival, which took place on September 22. She won for her film What would Sarah do?

In June this year, Craig Adriaanse joined the cast of the newly released telenovela, Arendsvlei.

“It’s a funny story. I was at the gym one day and I got an email from my agent and it gave me the brief of the show. They gave me a few characters and I chose two. The next day I auditioned and they liked me,” Adriaanse said.

Erin Carlisle shares her experience of entering, competing and winning the Creative Glamour Make-Up competition.

Erin Carlisle is a 23-year-old CityVarsity student who already has a certificate in motion picture makeup at CV and is currently doing a diploma course in art direction in photography. She won big at the Creative Glamour Make-Up competition on 9 August in Pretoria. Creative Glamour, a South African makeup company, held a competition to see who could produce the most creative makeup-look using Creative Glamour products.

BA film and television HOD, Stephen Schmidt attended an event hosted by the Cape Chamber of Commerce on 18 October. The event was based around the fourth industrial revolution i.e. drones, robotics, 3D printing and other technology that will change our lives in the coming years. The event formed part of their export awards ceremony, but Stephen was there manning a stand with small drones and a flight simulator for people to try out. CityVoice stopped by Schmidt’s office to talk about the drone course he’s offering to students.
